1974 Chevy Blazer K5 – Full Custom Interior Transformation
At
FineLine Upholstery, we love projects that allow us to showcase true craftsmanship and detail—and this 1974 Chevy Blazer K5 restoration was one of those jobs that turned out absolutely stunning. From bare metal to a fully custom interior, this build reflects precision, creativity, and the client’s vision brought to life

The Blazer arrived ready for a complete interior overhaul. The stripped-down cabin gave us a blank canvas to create a fully custom design

The finished result: a classic 1974 Chevy Blazer K5 with tan leather interior, custom safari top, and timeless style

We fabricated a brand-new rear bench seat with custom foam and armrests. Panels, tailgate cushions, and JL Audio speakers were wrapped in diamond-stitched leather for a seamless finish

Every stitch was planned — from quilted inserts to leather-wrapped armrests, blending durability with comfort

Door panels were wrapped and quilted with functional leather pockets. Imported wool square weave carpet with matching binding created a refined base

Bucket seats, dash, and panels fully wrapped in imported Euro Autolux leather, complete with custom stitching for a cohesive interior

The final touch: a custom Stayfast safari top with snaps and binding. Built for style, durability, and open-air flexibility
Work Completed
Our team handled this project from start to finish, including:
- Seats – Recovered the two bucket seats with custom fabricated moldings. Designed and built a completely new rear bench seat with fresh foam and custom armrests, styled and finished in automotive-grade leather.
- Leather Wrapping – Wrapped and installed the door panels, dash, steering wheel, sun visors, seat belts and covers, seat frames, side panels, and custom headbanger pads with customer-approved imported Euro Autolux leather.
- Center Console & Panels – Custom-wrapped the center console and kick panels for a seamless finish.
- Carpeting & Mats – Fabricated custom-fit carpet and floor mats using imported wool square weave material for a timeless OEM-plus look. Added wrapped kick panels and stainless-steel polished sill plates in both the front and rear cargo areas.
- Tailgate Details – Built and mounted a tailgate cushion using ABS paneling, featuring quilted diamond stitching to tie in with the rest of the interior. Wrapped seat frames, mounting brackets, and installed clips for a perfect fit.
- Safari Top
– Designed and fabricated a custom snap-on safari top using tan Stayfast fabric with matching double-fold binding for a classic but durable finish
Materials Used
We worked with only top-quality materials to ensure durability and a luxury finish:

- (1000) Serafil 135 40Z Thread – Heavy-duty stitching for long-lasting strength

The Final Look
The finished interior completely transformed the Blazer. The tan diamond-stitched leather contrasts beautifully with the light blue exterior, while the oatmeal wool carpet provides a refined base throughout. Details like wrapped roll bars, integrated audio panels, and a custom safari top elevate this classic from rugged utility to show-stopping luxury.
This was a rewarding build, and we couldn’t be happier with the result—or with our client’s reaction!
